Welcome Back

Welcome back to a new school year!  I hope everyone has had a restful summer vacation.  I'm looking forward to seeing everyone on Wednesday morning!  We are going to have a great year together.  So rest up these last few days of summer so that we can be ready to work come Wednesday morning.

See everyone in a few days!

Mystery

It's a Mystery!
Mrs. Boucher's class has been enjoying the genre of mysteries. The elements of a mystery are character, setting, plot, clues, distractions, and structure.
Working in small groups, students wrote their own mysteries.

Holiday Recipe Book

Are they trying to get out?

Tis the season for some recipe sharing.   As you know, your child asked for your help in sharing a family favorite recipe. We began this writing in a google doc as homework.  Using the app, Book Creator,  students then copied and pasted their ingredients and recipe on to a blank page in the app.

Once each student had created their own page the books were airdropped and combined into one final book.

Warning you will want to make all of these recipes soon!

Cardboard Challenge 2016

This past week the students in fifth grade built arcade games from cardboard and tape.  They were inspired by a little boy in California who created his own arcade.  You can watch the video here and see pictures from our Cardboard Challenge. We all had a lot of fun while learning the engineering process!
