Care Packages and Baseball Game

Thank you to all students and parents who donated treats for our soldiers.  I sent off two very large boxes filled with all kinds of delicious treats that the soldiers asked for, things they missed from home.  Below are some pictures of the student's letters and a class photo of all of our goodies to be mailed.  It was a fun experience for all involved.

We also had the opportunity to spend last Wednesday, as a school, at the Navigator's Baseball Game in Lynne.  It was a great opportunity to hear our fabulous school band play in front of a very large crowd, bond as a school, and as a class.  It was a lot of fun for students and teachers!  Here are some pictures of our day.

Care Package Being Mailed on June 5th

In the spirit of Memorial Day, we will be helping our brave soldiers stationed overseas in Kuwait.  Sergeant Jay DelGuidice, a graduate of Masconomet High School, contacted me asking if my students would like to write to his platoon. The students will be writing letters over the next two weeks.  During this time, I would like to gather some items that the soldiers are missing from home.  These items are Goldfish crackers, Cheese Its, Pringles, candy bars, magazines, and any random goodies you think would be appropriate.

Below is a picture of SGT DelGuidice and his platoon in Kuwait.  I appreciate your support as will the soldiers in Kuwait.  I will be mailing the package to the platoon on June 5th.  So please support our soldiers and send in treats for them.

Field Trip Tomorrow

Just a reminder that we are going on a class trip to Concord tomorrow.  Please dress for the weather, bring a bag lunch, and leave all electronics at home.  All children need to be on time tomorrow as well.  We will be leaving at 9 A.M.  and we should be returning to school by 2:30.

Know Atom Cars

We had a great day yesterday! After finishing our Snow Fort Project, the students worked on finishing up the Know Atom Car project.  The students were given materials and a problem to solve. As engineers, the students needed to redesign the rear-wheel drive car so that the car traveled in a straight line as it moved at a high speed.  As it was currently designed, the car was spinning in circles.  Below are pictures of the students constructing their newly designed cars.
